🗑️ Account & Data Deletion

At HeartLink, we respect your right to privacy and data control. This page explains how to request the deletion of your account and personal data from our platform.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your HeartLink account using any of the following methods:
Method 1: In-App Deletion
- Open the HeartLink app and log in to your account
- Go to Profile → Settings
- Scroll down and tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision by entering your password
- Your account will be permanently deleted within 24 hours
Method 2: Email Request
Send an email to help@heartlink.co.in with:
- Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
- Your registered email address or phone number
- Reason for deletion (optional)
We will process your request within 48 hours.
⚠️ Important Notice: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including profile information, matches, and messages, will be permanently deleted.
What Data Gets Deleted?
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- ✅ Your profile information (name, age, bio, photos)
- ✅ All your messages and conversations
- ✅ Your match history and likes
- ✅ Your preferences and settings
- ✅ Your location data and activity logs
- ✅ Your payment history (if applicable)
- ✅ Any verification documents submitted
Data Retention Period
After deletion request:
- Immediate: Your profile becomes invisible to other users
- 24 hours: Account deactivated and data deletion begins
- 30 days: All personal data permanently deleted from our servers
- 90 days: Backup data purged from all systems
📝 Legal Retention: Some data may be retained for legal compliance purposes (e.g., financial records for tax purposes, fraud prevention logs) as required by law. This data is securely stored and not accessible for operational use.
What Happens to My Data Shared with Others?
- Messages you sent to other users will be deleted from your account but may remain visible to recipients
- Other users' screenshots or saved content are outside our control
- Public content you created (reviews, ratings) may be anonymized but not deleted
Grace Period
We offer a 14-day grace period after deletion request during which you can:
- Cancel the deletion request
- Recover your account by logging in
- Download your data before permanent deletion
After 14 days, deletion becomes irreversible.
Download Your Data Before Deletion
Before deleting your account, you can download a copy of your data:
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Safety
- Tap "Download My Data"
- We'll email you a secure download link within 24 hours
- The link expires after 7 days
